Our beloved Starling has died today. He went for HIS free beer.

My heart is broken beyond repair!

    So sorry C3D. I am posting this poem by Emily Dickinson. It so much reminds me of you and Kramer.

    A Bird Came Down

    A bird came down the walk:
    He did not know I saw;
    He bit an angle-worm in halves
    And ate the fellow, raw.

    And then he drank a dew
    From a convenient grass,
    And then hopped sidewise to the wall
    To let a beetle pass.

    He glanced with rapid eyes
    That hurried all abroad,--
    They looked like frightened beads, I thought;
    He stirred his velvet head

    Like one in danger; cautious,
    I offered him a crumb,
    And he unrolled his feathers
    And rowed him softer home

    Than oars divide the ocean,
    Too silver for a seam,
    Or butterflies, off banks of noon,
    Leap, splashless, as they swim.

    Emily Dickinson

    Rest in Peace Kramer. Fly with the angels till you meet again.

    Thanks everyone. I'm just crying all day. I miss my speckled friend!!! Pepper, the African Gray Parrot, started the day with her usual:"Hiiiiiiiiiiiiii!" She then began an endless string of whistles, songs and things Kramer normally would say.

    I didn't know she could / would do that. Kramer taught her well before he left. His final gift to his family. :*(

    I had to smile at the thought that Heaven is MUCH more fun now that Kramer has arrived. I'm sure he ~humbly~ announced his arrival by saying:

    "I am sweet sweet Kramer. I am sweet AND a joy!"

    Yes my dear Kramer. You are. :-)

    "Heaven is MUCH more fun now that Kramer has arrived."

    That sounds much better than celestial harps and trumpets.

    Sorry, Darlin'.

    Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especiallly close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills and trees for all our special friends so they can run and fly and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

    The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play and fly together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent: his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved feathers, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart.
