The birds

I'm not thrilled by this. DH has been putting off getting the eves on the house repaired (I'm trying to avoid an argument over the repairs not being done but it is not easy) and where they have started to rot out the sparrows made the holes larger and began nesting in them. Yesterday when I was collecting the debris from the high winds we have had, the sparrows were having fits and I thought they were yelling at me. Then when I sat down to rest a moment, I realized they were trying to drive off a pair of starlings. The starlings were pushing their way into the hole in the eves. It came out with a hatchling sparrow. You can guess the rest. Should I put up a couple of bird houses? Should I push DH to get the repairs done? I know it is just Nature in tooth and claw but it was hard to watch.

Oh nooo *sniff* Knowing it's nature doesn't make the sight any easier. Sorry you had to witness this. If it were me, I'd put up a couple bird houses AND push the hubs to get on the repairs.(warning: listening to me can prove dangerous to one's health).

Which reminds me. I saw a spot on our eaves that needs immediate attention before someone takes up residence there. Guess *I* need to get on that one since hubs has been traveling six out of the last eight weeks. Hopefully that will be covered under our roof warranty as the eaves were replaced at the time.

*sigh* Am I the only one who's to do list keeps growing despite my checking things off on a regular basis?

You really need to get those eaves repaired. I think birds/animals can get into your attic that way too.

Seems like we barely make progress.....just treading water.
