Ideas for challenge with pondless waterfall design

I'm working through the design of a pondless waterfall I am working on. I plan to use large flagstones to make the platforms that will create the waterfall effect.

The problem is, I have dead space between where I want the buried basin (at the bottom of the photo, mostly out of the picture) and where my three levels are most naturally "falling".

The total length of this area is about 10 feet. The height from the grade to Level 1 is 1.5-2 feet.

Dead space is between Level 3 and where I wish to place the basin.

I need to somehow elongate the waterfall, but not sure how to do this.

Any ideas? I'm not crazy about making the highest drop higher and cannot make he water receptical lower that the natural grade.
