Ponds and swimming

We dug a pond this year, approximately 100 x 150 ft., fairly steep decline. It is 10-12 feet deep and has a pier. This pond has some runoff in heavy rains, but is fed mostly by a deep well. There are no fish yet, but the typical wildlife you would expect out in the country. We run a large aerator at all times. Is it safe to swim in?

You might try posting your question is 'discussions' if you want feedback. You've posted in the gallery where scant few will read your question.

If you're concerned about swimming safety, take a water sample to your county extension agent and have it tested.

As for me, I grew up swimming in ponds and would take a dip without a second thought. This is not a recommendation that you do the same. I'm simply stating a fact.
