I just wanted to share some pictures of our water feature.

About 50' long with filter pond not visible. Fed from a grotto to give a spring fed like appearance. 3+ foot wide fall stone

Tributary 40' long, 52" fall stone

Pump house (2 pumps), dock hiding plumbing and overflow pipe, a crooked skimmer lid

Fuller view. The pond takes every square foot I had available. It is noisy and serene at the same time somehow. And of course not finished.

So many people on the forum have provided direct help and inspiration. I never would have gotten through the confusion without all of you.

Thanks - Mike

This is absolutely beautiful! I love the HUGE boulders and the large spill-stones for the waterfall. And of course, all the landscaping is gorgeous as well. Thanks for sharing your pond.

I have to say that your pond...and the falls...EVERYthing about it...is one of my all-time favorites. I absolutely LOVE how you have the huge slabs standing upright around the back of the pond, and the smaller ones along both falls, as well.

The entire area fits so perfectly, all of the landscaping, walkways, the background views. If I didn't know any better, I would think that was a high-dollar professional job. WAY TO GO! :D

Gee, Mike, think my little pond will ever grow up to be as big and strong as yours? hahaha Thanks for sharing. You have done a beautiful job and it is inspirational.

Gorgeous pond and stream . You have certainly done a job to be proud of. I see you are a fellow PA. ponder. Where in Pa. are you located?

Thank you for the nice compliments. I appreciate them and they ease the back pain from all those rocks. It started as a simple 6x9 until my wife said "that is too small!" Two-and-a-half years later....

Brenda, it sure is an amateur job with good advice from the forum, but the high dollar applies.

No fishies or plants in the pond--this was enough of a committment and the water flow and turn-over seems like too much for fish. A landform of stone and vigorous water became my vision once the 6x9 was left behind.

mckean, I live southwest of you in Butler County, co-incidentally on McKean St

Going to run all winter and wonder what all that water will create with ice and snow.

Thanks again - Mike

Mike Thanks for the reply.I've been to Butler Co. many times. Don't think the water flow would hurt fish and some plants. Your pond is certainly beautiful without them.

Absolutely wonderful! I want to sit beside one of those streams with my toes in the rushing water. Well done!

Very nice! I agree with mckean though...it doesn't look like too much water flow for fish. I would guess that your gph is similar to mine and the fish love playing in the splash of my largest waterfall.

That is absolutely lovely. It reminds me of one of the streams near my grandparent's home above the Greenbriar River. I really do hate living on flat land!
I am running about twice the amount of water through the pumps as recommended and the fish don't have a problem so long as there are places that cut the speed of the flow. I have had the best success with a broad planting of underwater plants. Sandy
