Spring is in the air!

It has been an unusually mild winter here in Central IL. So this weekend I broke out my filters, cleaned the prefilter out, and netted all the leaves that accumulated during the winter.

Re-routed the discharge back onto the waterfall, and got it flowing once again.

Next week I'm going to trim the iris' as I see some shoots coming up from the waterline.

Koi were pretty nervous, and mostly hid under the lilly root mass.

Can't wait for pond season to begin in earnest.

It certainly has been a warmer winter than normal for me too. There is still snow and thick ice on my pond. It feels like late March temperature wise and the snow is also melting like it was March. I'm looking forward to seeing my fish in another few weeks.
