Cheap hose to empty pond?

Posted by onward-upward (My Page) on

I just purchased a bilge pump and it requires a 1 1/2" hose at both ends. I will use it to empty this dilpidated pond in a property we just purchased. Any suggestions on where to buy a cheap hose. I thought a regular lawn hose would work but I don't think they come in such thickness. I wouldn't need much about 10-20 feet. Thanks in advance.

I found a 1-1/4" hose near the pumps at HD. simple ribbed plastic, coiled up in wrapper with a couple of hose clamps. Might have had 2 adapter hose barbs in pkg too (1.5 & 1.25 threaded to barb).

You can also get a drainage/discharge hose in that size - a flat blue hose with brass fittings on each end. Tractor Supply has one listed for $22 (25 feet long) that worked very well when I did something similar last year.

Here is a link that might be useful: Tractor Supply discharge hose
