| so i know i need a clay based or similar type soil but i live in an apartment and there is no place for me to just get dirt. i have yet to find bagged clay at home depot. i was thinking about doing the bottom of my pot in a compost/manure/sand mix at a 3:1 ratio and doing a 2-3 inch layer of sand on top to hold it all down. eh? i was also wondering about fertilizer. new that was coming huh? i keep hearing to use water soluble rather than spikes or tabs. but all the "aquatic plant fertilizer" i find is in tabs or spikes. any suggestions? |

| Just be careful with Osmocote. There has been reports of it killing lotus and water lilies. |
