I need a new filter and am choosing between these 2. I was curious if there are any negatives on either, or if one is known to be a better filter. One is a Tetra and the other is a Laguna. Thanks! http://www.thatpetplace.com/bp1500-bio-active-pressure-filter-with-uv http://www.azponds.com/New_webpages/New_filters_classic.html (the 1400 gallon one)

If no one has used either of these you can read the reviews on Amazon.com. They give the negatives too.

how big is your pond.you want to filter a small pond at least 1x every hr. they are both good filters

My pond is only 300 gallons. I have a pondmaster mag drive 1200 pump that works great so I need a filter that will work with that pump. I was just told this morning that the tetra filter wont work with my pump because my pump isn't big enough. I was also told to get the Oase filter because they are the best on the market. So, I'm researching that now. There is a fishmaster filter that would work, but I can't find it in stock anywhere. So....still looking for a filter. I definitely want one with a UV light and a backwash feature.

I just ordered the Laguna filter. Hopefully it will work out well. I wasn't comfortable with the Oase filter. It seems to not be available in many places so I figured if it every breaks it will be difficult to get parts, etc.
