Pond Paint

We currently have a cement pond. The pond does not leak. My wife would like for the bottom of the pond to be painted. I want to paint it black. I went to a local pond store who suggested an expoxy based paint at $75 per gallon.

Can anyone recommend a less expensive alternatinve or is this the way to go.

Thanks.
