How to capture goldfish in huge pond?

A friend has a 1 acre pond with what looks to be dozens of goldfish (4-8").
It is a mud bottom pond which they plant to remove all carps in hopes of clearing the water (no more rooting up the mud).
They have been sold a bacteria that kills goldfish (which sucks but it is not my pond).

Any ideas on how to catch as many as possible in as short a time as possible??
They are "wild" and not eating pellets etc. A fishing rod is really not going to be speedy enough!
Any other ideas?? Thanks!

I think your only chance of catching most of these fish is to use a Seine net, but a one acre pond is pretty big, which is going to make the job a bit more difficult. Your friend will probably need to either drain the pond down to a manageable level, or perhaps use small boats or very long lines to maneuver the net. It'll probably take several passes to round them up.

Maybe someone else can come up with some other ideas. I know of no traps that can catch that many fish in such a large area.
