Pond liner repair

I have found a small hole in my rubber liner. I have rubber roofing self adhesive repair strips 6" in width. After cleaning liner w water and cloth should I clean it with a solution? I was thinking rubbing alcohol? Please help me with the proper method. Thankyou

Alcohol will work. Best is to lightly sand the area and use PVC pipe primer before you tape it.
