Home for Koi

I was a member of this Forum about 7yrs ago.I have not been on for at least 3 years.Had to sign up again.
I live in North East PA.I am moving back to Long Island N.Y.
I have a pond for about 6 years.I started with 3 Gold Fish and 6 Baby Koi.I still have every Fish. The pond is too small for the Koi,I had 6 back surgeries and both knees replaced 2 times in the last 2 years.
I am very sad about giving up my Koi.As you know raising them for 6 years, they are like your children.I would say they are about 22 ijches give or take. They are very healthy. They have never been sick. You might think they are small for 6 years old.Up here it frosts in end of Sept and we still frost until the 1st week of June. They do not eat for 6 months.I feed them good in the summer.I have DYI Filters(55Gal. Drums)etc.
I can take some pictures of them if interested.I just want to make sure they go to someone who knows how to take care of Koi.I am not being snobish, but I would like someone who is not a beginner and has at least 3 years raising Koi,or more!!!

Thank You
Doug

I do not know if you can acess my email from here.I will check back.

Excuse the typos it is 2AM and I have been up since 4 AM

Hi Doug (^_^)

I'm appreciated your love for Koi.

I know it's hard to give them with long time relationship.

I've kept more than 20 Koi in my pond they are real living treasure.

RE: Home for Koi

Hi Dave:

I have been ponding for 9+ years now and have a pond that is approx. 3,000 gals. I have had koi since I have been ponding. When I had to move a little over 4 years ago I had to part with my 5 year old koi and it was heartbreaking. I have a bottom drain that feeds my settlement pond then the water is pumped into the skippy filter to a top pond before it feeds the waterfall. I am in NE Ohio and would be interested in taking your koi (unless someone closer to you responds) but I will have to find a way to transport them.

I am not able to e-mail you from this website. If you are able to e-mail me from my member page I will appreciate it. I, too, will check back later.

Jenny

Hi Doug:

I apologize for getting your name wrong. I read fast and sometimes don't comprehend what I'm reading.

Haven't heard from you regarding your fish. Did you find someone to take them? I went on your user page but there is no e-mail link. To send me an e-mail just click on my user name and select send e-mail.

Jenny
