| Hi guys,
Thank you for your responses to my earlier email. That was very reassuring. I will have to learn to be patient - something I'm not good at. I hate to be pushy, but I'd really like to know if there is any reason that I shouldn't plant waterlilies, lotuses or marsh marigold in my pond, from the perspective of the frogs. I really want the frogs to thrive there, so I want to make sure whatever I do will be good for them. The pond is c. 7' x 3'. Also if anyone has any recommendations for a good online source of these plants that is reliable, I would be very grateful. Thank you so much. Beatrice |

| don't worry about the frogs and the plants they just eat bugs which helps out the pond big time! |

| Hi Again Beatrice: I say yes to all three, or if you want to plant just one that's fine too. I put water hyacinth and water lettuce in my settlement pond where the frogs hang out. They love to hide between the plants, then when a bug flies buy: "bam" dinner has arrived!!! The only problem: as the season passes the wh/wl get larger and I don't see the frogs anymore. I just hear them. I have raccoons who visit my pond and the plants provide hiding places for the frogs to take cover. I have lilies in my top pond, but the frogs seem to like the wh/wl better. However, all the tadpoles I found dead this spring were in the top pond by the water lilies. They didn't go into the deeper water and froze to death. Oh well, that's Mother Nature making sure only the strong survive. Good luck with whatever plants you decide to grow. Jenny |

| The current Conservationist magazine had an article on Marsh Mallow. One of the things it mentioned was that it was toxic. I've never had any skin reaction when handling it, but would be cautious if I had children around and I am now debating about the danger to my dogs. I will investigate further on this but wanted to mention it here. Anne |

| I said Marsh Mallow in previous post but meant to say Marsh Marigold, which is also called a cowslip |
