HI,IM GOING TO DIG A POND AND END OF POND WILL BE GOING ABOUT HALF AROUND A BANANA TREE THATS AROUND 3 YEARS OLD THERES GOING TO BE AROUND 10 INCHES BETWEEN 45 MIL LINER AND BANANA TREE,IS THAT OK OR WILL BANANA ROOTS BREAK LINER? THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.

Doubt they will break through the liner but they will grow over the side. Bananas are water hogs for sure.

I can't answer your question about growing bananas near the pond. But do you mean that the banana corm is 3 years old? My banana puts up a trunk that bears fruit after about a year and a half, then dies, to be replaced by new trunks that grow up from the corm.
