| Where do you guys get your lilies, lotus, and other aquatic plants? I just picked up 3 lily bulbs at Lowe's for $8 each. I need more variety than what they carry.
Thanks, |

| I started out with water lilies and anacharis that I got cleaning and thinning out someone else's pond. The water lily turned out to be Chromatella. I was able to buy water lettuce, water hyacinths, common arrowhead, and spatterdock from a local source. After moving to Florida and living there ten years, I had collected several varieties of water lilies and marginals, either from field collecting, paying postage in a forum, trading in a forum, buying seeds on Ebay, or having local people share with me. I'm still collecting and studying plants as I can find them even though I've moved back to Alabama. I've even bought the box plants at Wal-Mart and Lowe's. I've lost track of how many plants that I've had. I lost some this past Winter though. |

| Try the aquatic plant exchange here (link above). Many will trade for seeds or other plants. I have used ebay and also aquaticplantexchange.com a couple years ago - nice plants, but their prices have gone up like everything else. Contact a local garden club or master gardner - they often know someone thinning their pond plants. Good luck! S |
