what problems are there?

I'm still trying to learn, before "jumping in". The dimensions of my pool are 15 x 30, average depth 4'. Gallons, 13446 gallons, with a surface area of 450 sq'.

For this year I plan to just add an air pump and plants. I do not plan to add fish this year. I also expect to vacuum it only once, in the fall. I have not chosen plants yet. Do I need to get fertilizer, too? I think for lily pads I do, but for the others? Any suggestions? This pool/pond is in full sun most of the day.

Other than algae of various kinds, what problems do you run into with the ponds? What maintenance do you do regularly, and how often?

since your in Arizona your probably going to have to refill it alot. And your going to have to a get a lot of annual pond plants because most need to be warmer than zone 4.

I recycle what water I can to alleviate use of city water for only the pool.

Anyway, what problems are there, and since I will not be getting fish this year, what fertilizers would I need for other than waterlilies?
