I was about to buy a coloring product for my 12,ooo gallon pond and was talking to the companies specialist who told me that the product was nothing more than food coloring technical grade.
My question to you out their is..
Has anyone tried just plain food coloring? It would be a heck of a lot cheaper.
Thanks in advance.

It's even cheaper if you don't attempt to color your pond. :)

I wouldn't bother with trying to affect the watercolor. Unless your pond is in the shape of a giant lavatory, and you are looking for that 'perfect' shade of blue.

You might turn your fish blue. In any case it would take a lot of food coloring and isn't all that cheap and what the heck would you do with all the leftover red, yellow and green dye?

I would get a pond light and use the blue filter that comes with it.
