| Spouse came home with some really beautiful goldfish. The receipt says "goldfish-comet-sa". She don't know what the "sa" means.
They are white with a red top of the head and a red spot near the tail. Do you know what the 'sa' means? Are these pond fish? |

I don't know what the sa means, but the description sounds like my comet, Ito.

| I'm with lsst on this one. SA is just the word Sarassa which didn't completely fit on the receipt. The Sarassa comets are usually red and white unlike the regular orange, gold or silver ones. |

| Thanks. Once I found the name Sarassa I could find numerous images online. Interestingly the eight that the spouse brought home show much more uniform coloration that the images online. Seven of them look like sextuplets with almost identical coloration. They are all very spooky and shy. |

| Congrats on the fish. I have them coming out my ears. Arrrrg! They will be shy for a while. How big is the pond? They'll get use to you. You can teach them to hand feed by feeding them about the same time same place each day. Then start introducing your hand into the water with the feed. After they get use to your hand start putting food into a closed fist and as they come over let a few pellets out at a time so they know where the food is coming from. Most of my fish hand feed. |
