When to add WH to pond...?

I have found lots of information on WH except when it is safe to put them in the pond. The air temps have been in the 70's during the day and night temps in the mid 50's. The pond water is staying around 60 degrees.

Can I add them now or should I wait until it is warmer?

Thanks, Vickie

Vickie, with temperatures like that you can put the Water Hyacinths in the pond now.
If you do have a frost just go out first thing in the morning before the sun hits the plants and lightly spray them with water from the garden hose.
That will stop any damage to the plants.
Lucky you!

Hi, Horton, how are you? Thanks for the reply. The weather has been quite cool, and I wasn't sure when to toss them in and if I could keep them alive in the house long enough. They will be going in today.

And, yes, I can't complain about the weather now, after having one of the longest, coldest, and snowiest winters I can remember in a long while. Not as much fun as it used to be when I was a kid.

Mine went in Saturday, and the goldfish think it is a motel now. LOL. They are quite hilarious to watch when they are feeling frisky.
