temp. to add fish at?

I managed to keep alive one of my fry from last year and is now a fingerling. It has such beautiful markings and color and I am wondering at what water temp I can add him to my pond? Water temp is roughly 73* give or take a bit. Any suggestions on when to add would be great.

Troy, to avoid shocking the fish that you are going to add to the pond, because of a difference in the water temperatures, you could use the following method for transferring.
Use a container or plastic bag, with just enough of the water that the fish is in at present time, to completely cover the fish and float the container/bag in your pond until the temperatures equalize.
Check the water temperature in the container and in the pond.
When they are both the same you can let the fish slip into the pond.

Troy, what temperature is the water it is in at the moment? The closest you can get it is always best. Otherwise, put the fishie in a plastic bag with half a gallon of the water it is in now. Twist the top closed, trapping as much air as possible inside. Float the bag in the pond until the temps stabilize. Open the bag and gently pour in a cupful of the pond water. Wait a while and then add more pond water. Fill the bag this way. After a few minutes you can tip the bag and let the fishie out into the pond. There are additives you can use such as Stresscoat if you wish, but I don't bother. Just take your time. You can use a bucket if you like.

It is a good idea to release him where there is plenty of cover such as between pots. It gives him a chance to hide if he is scared.
