Best of luck to you bulldinkie! I had never heard of the problem with ponds, birds, etc. I hope you find a kidney soon. Let us know how it goes.

Look at it this way: you still get to do the best part and that's look at the birds and fish and ponds. Leave the heavy lifting for the hubby, that's what he's for anyway. May God bless you and keep you safe.

A co-worker of mine has a daughter who is waiting for a kidney, a Canadian film maker just did a documentary about their family and about how in India, people sell thier kidneys, it is a poor village where they sell thier kidneys as an income, I wish I could give a kidney or help people with even donating my blood, but was told I can't cuz of hep A. Bulldinkie: do you have pics of your pond/etc? Love to see them!

I just figured out that it is because kidney transplants recipients have to be so immunosuppressed. I guess birds and ponds have too much "stuff" in them, that they are an infection risk. Just be prudent, and it seems like you can still enjoy these things. (and hubby will have to work a little harder). You can be the supervisor! :)

Hubby gets the benefit of exercise, fresh air and helps to keep you healthy. Sounds like a great plan. :) Best wishes!
