Anyone?

I have this pygmy tropical in a 5 gallon bucket in the house. How cold can it be outside, before it might go into dormancy.......which wouldn't be good. I think we're over the upper 30's at night (the weather has been bipolar lately!). Now it will be 60's at night. Okay to plant now??

You should be concerned with water temps, not air temps. Check your water temperature and report back.

While cold water may delay growth, if it's not near freezing, you should be fine to sink the lily to the bottom until things warm up a bit.

Its a pygmy tropical, so its going in a 40 gallon tub, which is only about 12-15" deep, so its not very protected. But I will check the water temp. Fortunately, its supposed to warm up this week.

You're welcome. Water warms up very quickly in the sun, so it should be fine even in the shallow container pond.
