Can it be???

| Seems I have grand-fish! Lol. But I'm stumped here. The other day when I was hand feeding my 3 babies, hubs swore he saw something considerably larger than one of my gazillions of toadpoles dart past...
I thought he was nuts. We have three kids, roughly 3 yrs old , who have over-wintered in the pond for two winters. This evening during feeding time, g-son spotted a newbie so I turned off the fountain so we could get a better view.
Sure enough, there's babies in there! There's one about 1-1/2" and 3 more quite smaller (mighta counted one of em twice). Now, I had aquariums for years before graduating to ponding and I'm no stranger to fry. Plus I spend time at my lil puddle every day....NO WAY I missed all the action (did I???)
The only plant I've added this year is a lily 2 wks ago and it's in the lower (connected) pond. The size difference between the large & small ones is considerable. I've yet to master the art of sexing goldfish. Although I've witnessed one chasing the other two, I've not seen/identified any other tell-tale signs. (much easier in an aquarium, ha!) What are the chances I have one male & 2 females and only 3/4 fry survived?
Not that it matters too much. Got plenty of extra room. Just curious...

Sorry, I've also OBVIOUSLY yet to master the art of resizing pics on photobucket. Pics are fuzzy cuz they'll only eat out of MY hand & hubs wasn't home to take pics. They refuse to be bribed into posing for a few flakes =[ Spoiled rotten, they are.

Sorry....I don't see anything but tadpoles? Can you circle them on the photos?
RE: Can it be???

The little ones look like tadpoles to me too

If you are talking about the little black ones pashta and ccoombs are right. They are toadpoles. Do you have toads by your pond? Did you hear them singing? Congrats Toad Grandma. Jenny

Oops:/ I wasn't very clear. No fish in the pics except our 3 adults, meant to mention that - got distracted by g-kids. And yes, Jenny, got several toads at the pond & more toadpoles than you can shake a stick at, lol. Love to listen to their love ballads at night! Will try to get some pics of the lil ones this evening. I now have 3 eye-witnesses that I'm not seeing things *chuckle* I just can't figure how I missed all the action considering how much time I spend at the pond :0

CAn I throw my two cents worth in? I, too, thought they were tad/toad/poles. I think you would have many, many baby fish if that's what they are unless someone had lunch already.

Hi brownthumbia. Those are toadpoles in the pics. And yes, I too, thought there would be many, many baby fish. That's what had me scratchin my head, lol.

They recognize your hand? wow. I'm impressed!

Mine only come to my husband too, lol. If he comes near they practically jump in his hand. They dive to the bottom if I go out and try to take pics, lol. Probably because I am always yelling at him about overfeeding them. They know he is the snack master, lol.
