| How often do you top off the pond? I have a 10 x 6 pond nad I am noticing that I have to top it off almost every day or the pump starts to make a weird grinding noise... Is this normal evaporation for this time of the year or do you think there might be a leak somewhere?
Thanks for reading... |

| My pond is 5'x5'x28". I lose about 1-2" per week by evaporation or splashing from the streams/waterfall in the heat of the summer (late July/August here in zone 4) so I top it off on the weekends. My submerged pump is ~ 3" off the bottom so it's not affected. How much are you topping off, and where's your pump? Are you topping off more than last year? How old, what kind of pump? |

| My pump is submerged too... The whole pond is only 18 inches deep, so the pump is definitely not more than a foot deep I guess,it is under the skimmer, not exactly in the pond... The pond is very new. just 5 months old... and I didnt have this issue in the first few months... And it has an auto refill which I have closed off... So I open it to top it off and that takes maybe 2 minutes for the pond to be topped off? |

| Here in Oklahoma I usually have to top off about every 3-4 days. The pond will drop anywhere from 1-3", depending on whether we have calm or windy days, and how much evaporation there is. It is just routine here. |
