I came across this on youtube and I must say, I am really intrigued. There seems to be different variations of the same idea from different manufacturers, like rectangles and tubes instead of globes, and even plans for do-it-yourself but... like I said in the title, has anyone had any experience with these viewing devices?

| Yep. Easy DIY. I used a large acrylic cylinder vase inverted on a crate for a time. Worked great & g-kids loved it. Zero dollars. Google is my bff ;) (oh...and that feeding tube business is just so much nonsense designed solely to rob one of hard earned $) *see digger rolling eyes here* Have fun & be sure to post pics of your version if you try it.

Here's a link to a fish tower I experimented with a while back. We had a whole thread at one time with others' pictures but I couldn't find it.

Thanks all. I think that I'll putter around the pond this afternoon to see if I can rig up something temporary. If I still like the concept in the upcoming weeks and the maintenance proves acceptable, I'll take the final plunge, so to speak :) I can't believe that I've never seen these spheres around before...

So... I used a 2 ft high plant stand and an 18" inverted acrylic vase to create my water tower and, while the fish haven't yet swum up to the top, they have been exploring the opening a lot. It's working - so cool! But I need really need to make things taller. It already seems wobbly resting on the level bottom of the pond so I'm hesitant to maybe making it worse by elevating the legs on blocks. Any suggestions? Also, do I have to worry about the little floating plants that have made their way into the tower?
