| which way is the door on a skimmer supposed to be?? hinge on the bottom or the or the top? husband took ours off and cant remember whic way it goes |

| The door usually hinges at the bottom of the weir opening so you can adjust it for skimming position. "Horton" |

| Your question is one that I have seen a lot of pond contractors get wrong. The hinges have to go at the bottom or the weir won't work correctly. If installed upside down the skimmer actually won't skim. In which case the door has to be removed to get it to skim at all. I have seen plenty of ponds where the installer installed it with the hinge at the top. Mike |
