Holy Smokes!!

My Koi Spawned just over a month ago. They managed to knock 3-4 egg heavy water hyacinth up into the shallow water by the skimmer and were unable to reach the eggs to eat them. It's the first time I have had eggs to hatch so I put them in an aquarium... and now I have 829 baby koi.. yep I counted them when I cleaned their tank... WHAT WAS I THINKING???? I want 2 or 3 koi and have a couple of friends that want a few.. Even if a quarter of them live.... You get where I'm going with this??? Good grief... lol... all because I was so excited...

Call a local pet store that sells Koi, and ask them for a 'trade'. They get the baby koi for free, and you get food or some water plants.

Go cheap, because most won't live. I'd say $50 or $75 in store credit.

Too bad you didn't notice it earlier, your fish would have taken care of most of them. I thought I had a lot with about 20 survivors of this springs spawn!

Ha-Ha

I think all of us make at least one (if we learn quickly only once) lesson like this. :-) I did when I first had the pond.
