Striped Raphael in pond?

My husband thinks we should move our Striped Raphael catfish out of our aquarium and into our pond. I could not find anything on the web about anyone doing this. My pond has 2 red eared sliders and 5 or 6 goldfish. Its roughly 11 ft by 5 ft and 2 ft deep. He doesnt really burrow in substrate so I dont think he would be stressed by the lack of it as long as I give him some hiding caves. I just would hate to lose him as we have had him for probbaly 5 years. Oh reason for moving- just to help with algae and gunk.

Striped Raphael catfish won't eat algae and gunk....they are carnivores and would much rather eat your goldfish. They also are tropical and need water that is over 70 degrees. I think I'd just keep him in a fish tank and increase filtration to deal with the gunk in the pond. Turtles tend to make a real mess of the water.

Thanks for the feedback. Now I am really wondering what the heck has kept him alive for 5 or more years, he hasnt eaten any fish and he seems to like the algae tabs.
