Looks much like my own pond and about the same size and age
I do not take water out just add more if needed
Do not clean out the "junk" on bottom figure the plants grow in it.
and I do have some nice plants growing Including water lilies several different ones that overwinter in Canada
Makes me feel as if I should be doing more when you read all about the work involved in ponds Yet my fish are fine the plants are gorgeous.

Beautiful! I love the lotus. I tried to plant lotus I was given today and am not sure I did it correctly. I may have killed it off. I hope not. I love them.

I'm in eastern carolina and we just put in a pond and I just joined Gardenweb. I teach elementary school and we installed a pond a couple of years ago. Our school partnered with the NC Museum of Natural Sciences UTOTES program - Using the Outdoors to Teach Experential Science.
Anyway, my husband and I caught the ponding bug.
We are going fish-less and electric-less.
We still have lots of work to do - no stones yet, just a few plants.
Your pix is exciting and a great motivation - very beautiful!!!
