| I am sooooo exciting! My 5500 gal pond has been set up for 19 days now and I added fishies yesterday. 12 8" comets. They are the cutest little things I ever saw. I got up this morning and sat by the pond with a cup of coffee before going to work. I noticed they were all playing or maybe eating? They were tossing my hyacinths around, throwing themselves up out of the water in the process. They were all very active.
All I can figure is they are either playing or maybe eating larva that is on the hyacinths. I am as happy as a little girl on Christmas. I also called the local mosquito abatement yesterday and they will be dropping off some mosquitofish. I can't wait! |

| My favorite time is early in the morning with my first cup of coffee. Sunlight peeking over the horizon and spreading beams on the pond and waking up the fishies. ~dianne |

| pcan, they were making babies........ ...congratulations Mom! |

| They don't waste any time do they!!! :) I have today off, so I woke about about a quarter to 7, grabbed a cup of coffee and sat by the pond. They were not very active this morning (yesterday must have tired them out). I have always enjoyed getting up early and sitting outside with a cup of coffee in the summer, but the pond brings a whole new level of enjoyment. |

| Congrats Pcan! I was a new ponder last yr, put in a 1600gal pond...even before I put it in I was already wanting to double it!lol! So your pond sounds like it will be what my pond is for me...my greatest thrill! I too love that coffee in the morn, beside the pond. Also, I had the very same experience with fish really frolicking as soon as they entered the pond...now I have about 6 babies!!! 4 are brown(not even gold), and 2 are shubunkin! I am sure you are going to just LOVE your pond! Happy Ponding! |

| It is official! They were spawning. A week after putting them in the pond I have little tiny comets swimming around. They are so cute. Now I just hope they can survive the mosquitofish! |
