| After years of watching these guys I have come to the conclusion that the satellite males are the more successful breeders. The girls might actually lay eggs in a prime male territory but the alpha guy didn't do the deed because he was fighting with a rival to defend that territory. I have yet another pic of a low ranking male coupling. Has anyone observed the same? I still have a youtube posting of an amusing fight. It is in two parts. If you search green frog fight round (one,two) you ought to get both. |
