I am new to pond keeping and would like to know some good pond dye brands out there. I have a small pond (100 gal). Thanks.

I've used black dye before sold by Lilypons. I don't care for blue dyes. I don't use any dye anymore at all, but it can shade the water in early spring before you get good plant coverage. I forget the name of the dye but it comes as a powder and in two different size jars. A little goes a long way. It is harmless and fades away after a while.

Thank you for that info. I'll check out their website.

I use the black dye from Microbe Lift in my greenhouse pond and in my water column pond with no plants. Makes the water look deeper and keeps the greenies at bay.

I just remembered it is called Deep Water. I bought the little bottle and only used a tablespoon at most for a 'just under' 1000 gallon pond. It makes the water look deep. It fades with water changes.

Just put Deep Water or Dye in their search engine.

Here is a link that might be useful: Lilypons

Pond Dye works great. I've used both black and blue. Black looks great in the fall and is very reflective and makes the pond look deep. My wife likes the blue. We have much less of an algae problem now.
