Your pond is so fantastic. I love your plants and I think that you have so kind heart with growing such water plants.
I can't understand, how do you grow the water hyacinths. Mine is so, so poor. When I bought it, it was the last one, and pretty. But now, when I put it to the water, its leaves just rot.. It was about 12 cm wide when buying, and now, only 5 cm...
But yours are mooooree beautiful than mine. How are your Lotuses growing?

thankyou. its something i really enjoy doing. when i bought the water hyacinth they were prety good sized and started dying off all the leaves started rotting and i thought they were goners so in an effort to save them i started pulling off al the dead leaves. whenever i saw a leaf browning i pulled it off. they bloomed once so far. and then started putting off baby shoots.

im slightly worried about my lotus the caterpillars are getting ahold of them! >:( they are puttinh off aerials here and there and still sending up new leaves so maybe they will recover.

Have found only 3 things that stop hyacinth from growing. Temps below 50, too heavy water movement. and drying out. I grow them in both a pond and a marsh garden as well as a. tub I find them to be the best water filter but I have to remove at least a bushel a week from the pond. There are at least 3 kinds varying mostly in size IME.There does seem to be a difference in the flower color.
