Ponds & Aquatic Plants

plants just arrived from online order, can I wait to pot

This may be a silly question, but I just received an order of plants (my first) and I don't really have time to plant them immediately as I'm at work.

Will they be ok for a day or two if I submerge them (at appropriate depths of course) in the pond and make sure they can get pushed around by wind, current, etc?

They'll be fine for a few days as long as they are submerged to the appropriate depth. They just won't grow the way they would if they were rooted in some medium.
