external pond pump

Wanting to know what people are using these days for their external pond pumps, I have a sequence 1000 that is 10 years old and still running, I am wanting to buy another that comes after a gravity fed bottom drain that leads up to a waterfall. Pond is approx 3600 gallons.

Had a (gawdawful expensive) sequence that only lasted a couple of years. I'm crankin' w/ a 1.5HP 6500GPH Hayward pool pump right now. $100 bucks on Craigslist. LOL

I'm not sure what the difference is between pool/pump ponds but this was a majorly affordable "temporary replacement" that seems to have made itself permanent :)

well the difference between pool and pond pumps, are pool pumps are energy hogs.i run a performance pro 1/4 hp 4900 gal/hr.and uses only 300 watts.pond pumps run 24/7 pool pumps dont.my pool pump uses 1500 watts/hr.
