I have always used tarps rather than liners due to the cost My 5x10 above ground lasted from 1981 to 2004 and was replaced by another tarp. I replaced again this year due to termites weakening the frame . bear in mind that I don't experience ice or freezing in my zone Have found it necessary to cover exposed edges as it will degrade in full sun .

imo you are looking tbl using a tarp,it is not thick enough.pond liner is 45 mil thick.nothing worse than having a leaking liner
