 o
cement waterfall erosion

I have a backyard pond with waterfall. The water coming out of the waterfall runs over a layer of rock and hydraulic cement before splashing into the pond. I noticed that the cement is eroding away rather quickly. There is no leak (at least not yet). I looked at posts on this forum and a few people mention cement sealers for stopping leaks but I have not seen any that talk about slowing down erosion when you have a rapid water flow. Does anyone know if a sealer or something else would slow down the erosion? Thanks.

There are sealers and there are sealers. You may get better service from hard rocks, even marble for the water to flow over.. Even if river rock eroded somewhat it would look good.

Check the PH. Acidic water, less than 6.8 will cause rapid breakdown of rocks like limestone and sandstone.
