If you've ever grown Lotus from Seed?

I bought lotus seeds and started them about a month and a half ago. All I have is floating leaves crowding up the pot. Ive these websites of people that also started lotus from seeds, and their plants put up aerial leaves within a few weeks or so.

How do aerial leaves grow? Do they start out as floating, then grow above the water? Or do they just unroll in the air?

I live in Arizona, if that makes a difference.

Photobucket

Heres a picture of them.
Do you think they are doing okay?
Any tips you can share?
(Remember, these are from seeds, not tuber)

Thanks! [:

When it is time for aerial leaves, they will come up and out and unfurl. Sometimes it might take 2-3 months for your first aerial leaf.

Yup, I concur. It takes a while. Your plant looks very good, actually.

It looks great ... I'd say they uncurl in the air.

I would go so far to say people don't get aerials in a matter of weeks .... they gotta do/have the floaters first.
