Tell me this. What do y'all see in this pic? Keep in mind that I study the behavior of all the plants that I get and know what floaters look like in different stages. I'm not an amateur ponder.

Warning, do not look at this picture unless you are a professional ponder.

Maybe it is okay to peek at it just a little bit, but only if you are at least an ardent amateur ponder?
But be careful! LOL

I'm not sure what it is pondmaninal. Can you take a closer pic of it?

It's

Mosquito Fern (Azolla)

and I cheated...when I point to pic it gives a tag.

I wouldn't have guessed azolla. Mine is always reddish, and when its young, its more green.

Here is two more pics as close as my camera can take them.

Mosquito Fern 06-07

Mosquito Fern 06-07

If I had a better camera, you might see one plant further developed. Also, it's all green, just bad lighting.

I wish I could find some around here. I hear the koi love eating it.

My fish also love it but it clogs my skimmer as well. Same with duckweed. Frogbit is large enough that it will stay in pockets along the edge.

Thought at first you were trying to show some weird mold. I would have said a close up of duck weed as it's tiny, tiny.

RE: A test. Tell me what plant you see.

Here's a little serious information for y'all. Did you know that there are two types of Frogs-bit? Yep, the American and the European. The American is bigger and produces small yellow flowers. The European is smaller and produces small white flowers, unlike the yellow one in shape.

Another bit of knowledge. There are three types of duckweed. I have two of them. The normal size and the giant. The giant is the same size as a leaf of a water fern.

Looks like Duck weed to me????

RE: A test. Tell me what plant you see.

To anyone who don't know the plant like I do, it will look like duckweed. Duckweed doesn't reproduce as quick as azolla/mosquito fern. And as it starts getting crowded, the individual plants start to mature. Then you get the plants that you are use to seeing.
