Will water iris still bloom this year?

This has been a challenging gardening year in my zone. We've had a very cold spring and my water lilies are only just starting to bloom (has been hot 26C the last few days). My water iris hasn't bloomed at all and is usually long done blooming. In the yard the peonies just finished blooming. So question of the day are the iris likely to bloom still or are they just a spring bloomer? These are established iris and have always bloomed every year like crazy. This year they have only just reached about 15 to 18" tall but I'm not seeing any buds. So maybe as the yard flowers are about a month behind the same thing is happening with the water iris?

Are they in pots? If so, when's the last time you thinned them? Have you been fertilizing them? When you say they are 15" tall.....do mean under the water?

Some plants are in pots in heavy clay and some are contained in pots with 1" rock. All were thinned last year not overgrown. Are that height above water line with about 2" of pot edge below water line. Not fertilized. The plants that are planted in soil always do better than the ones planted in rock or gravel. For most of June our temps have been below 65F and very little sun tons of rain though.

Hey, this weather has been terrible, can't believe the rain!! My irises have been blooming for a while now but it has been pretty spotty and they are still sending up new buds. Everything is off kilter this year. I wouldn't give up hope of flowers but I don't think you'll get much a few of mine started sending up buds and just stopped, I think the temps and lack of sun has got to them like it has to everything else. I will be so happy when this weather clears everyone is so miserable

The ones in soil do better because soil has nutrients and iris are fairly heavy feeders for pond plants....

I gave up keeping them in rocks, they never bloomed. In soil and fed with Jobe's Tomato Spikes (cheaper than Pond Tabs) they bloom.
