A flashlight at night.. it blinds them.. also have seen people catch them with a hook and red yarn.

I'm going to suggest that you don't try to relocate the frogs, but wait until they find your pond on their own.

Frogs are very sensitive to their environment and the smallest factor can result in their death or evacuation. You've built the pond for them; now make sure that it offers everything they need in their little ecosystem.....and wait.

If frogs and toads find it suitable, safe, and healthy, they will certainly show up...and soon. If you capture and relocate them before your pond has settled in, you could kill them.

Just wait, if you have a waterfall or water falling sound they will come. The toads will come in larger numbers to mate and lay eggs, then there are millions of tiny toads everywhere. Green frogs, leopard frogs and bull frogs will hear the water and appear from nowhere and then move on. Tree frogs come, mate, and leave. I have had all of the above at my pond this year and rejoiced when the bull frog moved on--it is incredible what they can and will eat. The other guys can stay but they don't-just visit, mate, lay eggs and move on. Then when all the tadpoles leave the pond you see babies everywhere for weeks.

I love frogs too, so I have several fake frogs around my pond. Sometimes they leave too--with the help of 2 grand daughters. I love turtles and have 2 fake turtles. They look real and their legs move with the current of the water--no pooping or eating of my fish. Yeah!!!

If there is food the frogs will come. Not enough food the moved frogs will leave.
