did string alge drown the frog?

I just found one of my little frogs laying on one of the long slate waterfalls. Nothing looked out of place, it was just bloated and a funy color (like any dead body in water)There is lots of string alge on the falls but the frog did not appear to be tangled in any way rather just stiing on top of it. Can frogs get tangled in the alge and die?

Sorry!

Awwww Lisa, I am sorry about your little frog. The string algae wouldn't kill him though.

Thanks guys, I feel better that it wasn't my fault for not taking out the alge. I kind of like it, looks more natural. This little guy was only about 1.5 inches long head to tail. The rest look healthy. I do wonder why he died, there are no signs of trauma. He was just sitting on the slate. I left him out for other critters to make use of. RIP little frog. : (
