I would not hesitate to add aquatic plants. For the aquatic tadpoles and such I would think that after a few days the chlorine in the water would have dissipated and it would be safe. If you want to be on the safe side you can add some dechlor to the pond.

Do you get your plants locally or online?

Most of mine are local and from pond friends. Try the aquatic plant exchange forum. Very nice people who give away plants for the price of postage or trade.

Newgen, one thing that you need to consider getting, mosquito fish. Otherwise, the mosquitoes will drain you dry. :o)
