Baby koi and goldfish

I live in Pa. I was told that koi have not had babies as of yet this year due to long winter and cool spring. Is this true? My fat head minnows have had babies many times already this year.

Very untrue, assuming the koi didn't actually die in the long winter. That would certainly explain no offspring.

It can be amazing what people will imagine and say out loud.

Also from Pa. My koi laid their first eggs for the year over the Fourth of July weekend. They have hatched and are now free swimming.
