Snails can travel surface tension like water strider bugs!!

Ok, if you already knew that than good for you. But I was watching the little garden pond this evening, just vegging out and meditating over the goldfish and bugs and such... when I spied a snail leave a plant stem, glide onto the bottom of the surface tension of the water, and glide about three full inches (at his standard snail's pace) to another stem. I Googled it out and sure enough....

52 years old and been diggin pond life since I was old enough to escape from the house. And I never knew this. Wow.
