So I get my lone shubunkin 2 companions and....

while they were in the bag getting adapted to the water temp, my larger shubunkin seemed all happy and swimming in circles. He would go to the bag and stare in then swim in circles some more. As soon as I get the 2 new ones out, the larger one is chasing them around. I was hoping this was a play thing. But it's been 3 days and the new ones have been hiding in a clay pot at the bottom and the larger one is sitting next to the pot. Is it because he wants to be with them or is he intimidating them and holding them hostage down there? I haven't seen them since I brought them home Friday.

My 5 inch shubunkin ate the 1 inch shubunkin babies I brought home. They will eat anything that fits in there mouths so now I just stick with fantails. I was reading up on this and they say to take the larger fish out of the pond for a few days then when you put him back he thinks hes in the smaller fish territory but i dont know i havnt tried that.

I made sure to buy the largest new ones that were at the nursery. My lone one is about 10" (not including his fantail) The new ones are about 6". I don't think he's going to eat fish that large. Will they eventually come out of hiding? I've been putting some sinking food in to make sure they get something on the bottom.

I've got a few larger fish in my aquarium and I've seen them do the strangest things. Like 3 goldfish 5-6 inches plus a 12 inch koi all huddled up together slinking in one spot trying to look invisible cause I added another 3 inch fish.

STRANGER DANGER !!!!

Give em a few days to work things out and see if they figure out how to get along, they probably will.
