Baby goldfish and winter

Hello all... we've just recently discovered that when we thought our female shubunkin was carrying eggs a couple of months ago, we were right! We have seen 3 babies so far in the past couple of days. They are so tiny (about an inch and a half long) We've been wondering though, will they be ok through the winter? We're in Ontario and our winters can be pretty brutal with lots of snow and very cold temperatures. This will be only our second winter in this house with our pond. We moved in here last November and the previous owner insisted that the pond was fine for the winter. In the spring all of the 10 koi that were in there (some for more than 10 years) had died. We fixed up the pond, cleaned it, got it going and replaced the fish. We now have 5 koi, 3 commets, 1 shubunkin and 3 little babies! Our fish are doing amazing and have grown so much in the past 3 months. We've been already planning on buying a small heater for the pond for the winter to keep an air hole but were thinking about the little ones. Will they survive winter? Any suggestions or ideas would be helpful. Thanks!
