| I bought a my very first water Lilly last year from our local pet store, a very good store but a little pricey. I don't mind that as I'm supporting a good store and a good family business. My hungry fishies then proceeded to eat all the leaves and half the roots until I moved it to the newly named "plants only" pond.
It is doing very good this year always popping out new leaves and finally a flower! And I can see 2 more flowers coming up from below too. As this is my very first Lilly flower I'm worried about it. For a few days now the flower has been above the water surface, the stem is a little long so it droops over some too. Is it supposed to be at the water surface? Will it just do its thing if I leave it alone or should I prop it up or something? I'm leaving it where is is but the suspense is killing me! (Pics to follow when it opens!) |

| All will be well Ernie, just leave it alone the lily plant knows what it is doing.LOL Sometime the flowers on my lily plants pop up a bit high above the water, but they are fine. Congratulations! "Horton" |

| My waterlily has also been blooming all summer, but this is the first year my water hyacinths have bloomed. Of course, it's also the only summer in the past three years (the age of my pond) where it's been consistently in the 90's with a few days over 100 degrees. |

| OK, I'll leave it be but I hate the waiting part lol. I've got my Lilly in a separate little pond without any Koi. There seem to be two mystery fish (1-2 inches) that must have come as eggs from Florida with some water lettuce & hyacinths I had shipped in. This year I have the basket covered over with some slate slabs to keep the roots fish safe in case I ever change ponds. I briefly had two Hyacinth blooms early on, but since the floaters are there mostly for algae control and they have eaten all the good stuff I think further blooms are not gonna happen. |
