I used to use Stress Coat added to the water at the same time I added city water to the pond. Now, however, I use a dechlorinator that is intended for the water tanks for campers. It screws onto the hose and supposedly removes chlorine. I got mine at Walmarts but I'm sure they are sold in many other places.

Don't know what happened to my reply to your post. It must be out there in cyberspace. I use the declor your get in the pet department at Walmart. When I drained my pond this spring I used five bottles. Jenny

Hey Jenny! long time no talk to, how have you been? I was thinking about getting the dry dechlor, its much cheaper and covers more gallons, has anyone tried this?
|
Shalom, I use the center spray on the garden hose nozzle and spray the water into the skimmer - this creates huge bubbles and chorline does not like water so it dissapates into the air when the spray hits the water - helps a bit with aeration of the water. ou cold also spray into the pond - key tis to use a fine spray to it the water surface to dissapte the chorline

I have never used the dry dechlor. If you use it let me know if it works. Doing fine. Pond is overgrown with both vegetation and livestock. I bought a huge lotus last year and it never bloomed. The leaves are large but now something is eating them. I just do not have luck with lotus. How is your pond doing? Did you ever get it fixed? Jenny
